Mayhem Comes up Short against Mississippi

One night after setting a franchise record for combined penalty minutes, the Macon Mayhem had a less raucous and very entertaining game, but still came up short 3-1 against the Mississippi RiverKings at the Macon Coliseum Friday night. the two teams combined for only eight penalty minutes.

It was evenly played game throughout and the teams battled through a scoreless fist period. The teams swapped second period goals with with Ryan Marcuz striking first for Mississippi and Jake Trask scoring for the Mayhem at the 17 minute mark.

The RiverKings had two more shots on goal in the third period than the Mayhem (10-8) and those two shots made all the difference. Bryan Dallaire scored at 7:56 and Tood Hosmer provided the final tally at 15:46.

The Mayhem concludes its three game military salute Saturday night against the Columbus Cottonmouths at 7:30. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Concession specials will be $2 hot dogs and $3 Miller bottle products. Following the game, the Mayhem military jersey auction will take place with the live portion of the auction. this week the Mayhem have been taking bids via email at mayhemauction@gmail.com and silent auction bids at the games. Those bids will be used as the starting bids for the live auction. If no bids at the live auction top the silent/online bids, those bidders will be the successful bidders and receive the jerseys.
