Mavs Minutes

Carlson Continues Hot Streak

Adam Carlson posted his first shutout of the season in Sunday's win over Quad City, stopping all 22 shots faced in the contest. The Washington Capitals prospect is riding a hot streak between the pipes, leading the team to at least one point in his last six starts with a 4-0-2 record. Over that span, the Edina, Minnesota native has turned away 162 of 174 shots (.931 SVP).

Pauly Pots 20

Shawn Pauly continued his career-best season by hitting another mile marker, scoring his 20th goal of the campaign with his second strike in yesterday's game. The Bellingham, Washington native is now the goal-scoring leader for the Mavericks and has claimed two hat tricks on the season - one against Tulsa in November and one at Colorado on March 7.

Mavs Post Season High

The Mavericks exploded for eight goals against Quad City on Sunday, scoring early and often through the first 40 minutes of play before slowing down in the final frame. Kansas City scored three times in the first period and four times in the second en route to an eight-goal onslaught. It was the most goals in a game for the Mavericks since Nov. 5, 2016 when KC ran up 10 goals on Tulsa in a 10-3 win, with now-captain Tyler Elbrecht scoring the game-winner.

Home Sweet Home

After starting the year slowly at home, the Mavericks have figured out home ice of late - winners of five of their last six home games, a span that dates back to Feb. 23. In that span, Kansas City has claimed weekend sweeps over Allen (Feb. 23 and 24) and Fort Wayne (March 2 and 3) in addition to Sunday's win over the Mallards. Tuesday's Independence Cup game is the last home game until April 2 and 3 as the team hits the road for four games over the next two weeks.

Playoff Picture

The Mavericks are tied in points with Kalamazoo for fourth in the Central Division, though the Wings still own a game in hand. Kalamazoo also currently owns the tie breaker, having more regulation and overtime wins on the year (30-28). Close behind the two teams is the Indy Fuel with 64 points. The Mavericks and Fuel will face off two more times this season - once on the road on March 30 and once at home on April 3.
