Previewing This Week

Wednesday, Nov. 30 vs. Allen - 7:05 p.m. | Home vs. ALN (1-0-0), Away vs. ALN (0-2-0)

The season series between the Mavericks and Americans has been dominated by the home team this season. The Americans won the first two in Allen on October 15 and 16 by a combined 10-3 score, but the Mavericks answered back with a 5-3 win on November 15 in Independence. The Mavericks are 4-2-0 against the Americans on home ice dating back to the start of the 2015-16 season. Wednesday will be the second of six home games for the Mavericks against Allen, but they won't see the Americans in Independence again until March 3, 2017. Allen will finish a six-game road trip on Wednesday (following a visit to Tulsa the night before) and enters play this week 2-2-0 on the trip. The Mavericks, meanwhile, are 3-2-0 at home this season.

Friday, Dec. 2 at Fort Wayne - 7:00 p.m | Home vs. FTW (0-2-0), Away vs. FTW (0-0-0)

The Mavericks will look to salvage the season series against Fort Wayne in the last of three meetings between the teams this Friday. The Komets scored wins of 6-4 and 6-1 in Independence on November 11 and 12, and are the only team to have defeated Missouri at home so far this season. The Mavericks were 1-0-1 on the road against Fort Wayne last season as the teams traded back-to-back 4-3 decisions on Feb. 24 & 26, 2016. The Komets are coming off of a 1-2-0 week which saw them beat Kalamazoo 6-1 then fall 7-1 to Toledo and 6-2 to Quad City.

Saturday, Dec. 3 at Cincinnati - 6:35 p.m. | Home vs. CIN (0-0-0), Away vs. CIN (0-0-0)

Saturday marks Missouri's lone visit of the season to Cincinnati and kicks off the four-game season series between the Mavericks and Cyclones. The Mavericks are 2-0-0 all-time against Cincinnati with wins by counts of 5-2 and 3-2 on Dec. 18 and 19, 2015 in Independence. Saturday will be the Mavericks' first-ever game at U.S. Bank Arena where the Cyclones are 4-4-2 this season. The Cyclones enter play this week sixth in the South Division with a 7-9-2 record and currently riding a six-game winless streak (0-4-2).

Mavs Moments

- Rocco Carzo tied Dane Fox for the team lead in points at 13 (6g, 7a) with one goal in each of the Mavericks' four games last week. Carzo has seven points overall (4g, 3a) in his last six games.

- The Mavericks are 5-2-1 over their last eight road games after starting the season 0-4-0 away from home. Five of Missouri's next seven games are on the road before it gets a three-game home stand from Dec. 16-19.

- Missouri's penalty kill has been a major reason why the Mavericks have been able to hold their opponents to an average of three goals per game (two per game in wins) over their last five. The Mavericks have gone 13-for-13 on the penalty kill, and have one shorthanded goal, in their last five games (4-1-0).

- Kevin Tansey picked up three points (1g, 2a) in the Mavericks' final two games last week to maintain his one-point-per-game-pace since joining the team on November 14. He has had a +/- rating of even or better in each of his six games (+6 total) and the Mavericks are 5-1-0 since he joined the lineup.

- Ville Husso has won his last two starts and is on his first personal winning streak as a pro. He has a .956 save percentage and a 2.13 goals-against average in his last three appearances. He came on in relief in Orlando on Nov. 22 and stopped 20 of 21 shots in one period of work.
