CHECKING THE RIVALRY

The Mavericks are facing the Americans tonight for the eighth of 13 meetings between the clubs this season. It's the third of six between Missouri and Allen at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena where the Mavericks have a 1-1-0 record in the series. Tonight's visit is Allen's first since November 30 - a 1-0 Americans win behind a 24-save shutout by Riley Gill. The Mavericks (8-2-0) and Allen (8-2-1) had two of the best Februaries in the ECHL, and each team will rely on different strengths in tonight's game. Allen's offense averaged 5.36 goals per game in February and only scored fewer than three goals in a game once. Missouri, meanwhile, boasts a 2.13 team goals-against average in its last eight games.

ONE-TIMER * With 13 games, March is the second-busiest month of the season for the Mavericks. Eight of their 13 will be played at home against Allen (4), Wichita (2) and Tulsa (2). Missouri is 6-3-1 at home against those opponents.
