Mavericks Assigned Forward Kenton Miller from Wolves

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks announced Wednesday the Central Hockey League (CHL) team has been assigned forward Kenton Miller from the Mavericks' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. The Mavericks also announced the team has signed defenseman Aaron Schwartz to a try-out agreement. Missouri's roster is currently at 26 players and consists of four goaltenders, seven defensemen and 15 forwards.

Miller, 21 (2/10/91), enters his rookie season after having a career year last season in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Moose Jaw Warriors. The Redvers, Saskatchewan native finished with 35 goals and 52 points in 69 games in 2011-12. The 6-foot, 196-pound forward played a total of four seasons in the WHL and totaled 117 points (60-57117) and 157 penalty minutes in 242 games. Miller also played in 49 playoff games and finished with 18 points (13-518) and 28 penalty minutes.

"Kenton Miller is a very exciting young prospect who had a very strong showing at the prospects camp in Vancouver," said Mavericks' Head Coach Scott Hillman. "He then went on to have an exceptional camp with the Wolves. We are excited to add more youth, scoring and energy to our roster."

Schwartz, 27 (3/5/85), signed a try-out agreement with the Mavericks. The 6-foot-1, 203-pound defenseman played for three different teams last season including four with the CHL's Bloomington Blaze. A native of Deerfield, Illinois, Schwartz also played 16 games for HC Trutnov in the Czech Republic and three games for the Southern Professional Hockey League's Fayetteville FireAntz. He is still considered a rookie in the CHL.

The Missouri Mavericks will begin their fourth season of play on October 19 on the road against the expansion Denver Cutthroats.
