Peterborough Petes News Release

Peterborough, ON- Before the Peterborough Petes game against the Owen Sound Attack on Sunday, General Manager Michael Oke announced that Peterborough native Matt McNamara has signed a standard player agreement.

McNamara, who was selected by the Petes in the 6th round, 108th overall in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection, has spent the first month of the season with the Lindsay Muskies. The Minor Petes product will continue to play with the Muskies this year.

The 6'0", 180lbs right-handed defenceman appeared in Sunday's game against the Attack, recording one shot on goal. He wore number five during his first OHL game. He also participated in the 2016 OHL Gold Cup with Team OMHA White, where he was tied for fifth in tournament scoring with six points.

"Matt's play was impressive during our Development Camp in the spring, and during Training Camp in September. He's had a good start to his season with Lindsay," commented Oke. "We're excited to have Matt join our organization, and look forward to monitoring his development with the Muskies this year."
