Arkansas Travelers News Release

NORTH LITTLE ROCK - The Arkansas Travelers announce the hiring of Matt Dudas as a radio broadcaster for the 2013 season, joining veteran play-by-play broadcaster Phil Elson on Sports Animal 920 KARN-AM. Matt will deliver three innings of play-by-play and serve as a color commentator for 70 home games and will be a major presence on expanded pre- and post-game shows for all 140 Travs broadcasts as a studio host when the team is on the road.

Aside from his duties on Travs radio broadcasts Dudas will be assisting with all media relations duties including maintenance of the Travs website, game notes and statistical preparation.

"I think Travs fans are really going to enjoy Matt's presence on our radio broadcasts," said Elson, who is entering his 13th year with the club. "Aside from a very pleasant voice and delivery, Matt is energetic and has an exciting call of the action. He also has many great ideas about ways to expand our coverage of Travs baseball through the broadcasts and other media. I'm very excited to work with him."

The 2013 season will be the second in Minor League Baseball for Dudas who worked as a radio broadcaster for the Harrisburg Senators of the Eastern League in 2012. Currently he serves as a radio broadcaster at Millersville University of Pennsylvania delivering play-by-play and color commentary at his alma mater for baseball, football, men's and women's basketball and soccer. He also worked the 2011 season in the Alaska Baseball League for the Mat-Su Miners. He graduated from Millersville in May 2012 with a degree in Speech Communications with a Broadcasting concentration.

"I want to thank Travs General Manager Paul Allen, Phil Elson, and the entire organization for extending to me this opportunity," said Dudas, a native of Harleysville, PA. "I'm thrilled to be joining a team with such a rich history and look forward to making myself a part of the Central Arkansas community. I'm incredibly thankful to all of those that have helped me to this point in my career that have helped me prepare myself for this terrific opportunity."

Dudas will begin his duties with the Travelers in March following the conclusion of the Millersville University basketball season.

The first Travs broadcast of the 2013 season is Opening Day April 4 at Dickey-Stephens Park.
