CHESTER, Pa.- Philadelphia Union are headed to the MLS Cup Playoffs for the second time in club history as well as their first time since 2011. The club begins the Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs with a match against Toronto FC at BMO Field tomorrow, Wednesday, October 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The match will be televised on ESPN2 and UniMas in the United States.
This contest is the first-ever post-season meeting between Philadelphia and Toronto. In all-time Major League Soccer regular-season play, the two clubs are an even 6-6-5 against one another. Philadelphia is 4-2-2 against the Reds at Talen Energy Stadium as well as 2-4-3 against Toronto FC at BMO Field.
The Union and Toronto FC faced off two times in regular-season action this year. Philadelphia registered a record of 0-1-1 against the Reds, including a draw in their lone meeting at BMO Field on September 24. In that match, Alejandro Bedoya recorded his first MLS goal as well as his first goal for Philadelphia.

Philadelphia enters the post-season following a record of 11-14-9 and 42 points, good for sixth in the Eastern Conference. In the club's last match, the Union hosted the New York Red Bulls at Talen Energy Stadium on Sunday, October 23. That tilt ended 2-0 in favor of the Red Bulls.
Over the 2016 regular season, the Union scored more goals than in any other year in club history (52). Philadelphia also set new records in fouls suffered (444) and shots on goal (167).
Individually, Keegan Rosenberry became the first rookie and sixth outfield player in MLS history to play 3,060 minutes in a single season. Additionally, Tranquillo Barnetta set a new club record for most corner kicks in a single year (123) while C.J. Sapong set a new club record for most fouls suffered in a season (71.)
Should the Union win and advance against Toronto, they would begin the Eastern Conference Semifinals at Talen Energy Stadium against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday, October 30. That series would be a two-legged, home-and-home format with total aggregate goals deciding who advances to the Eastern Conference Championship.
