CARY, N.C. After two weeks on the road, North Carolina FC (2W-2D-1L, 8 pts, 3^rd place) returns home with momentum for a match against the San Francisco Deltas (1W-3D-1L, 6 pts, 5^th place), presented by Triangle Visions Optometry, on Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park.

NCFC claimed seven points from its last three matches and is just one point from the top of the table. The club sits level on points with Miami FC and the New York Cosmos.

NCFC is tied for the top offense in the league after scoring seven goals in its first five matches. Matt Fondy and Lance Laing lead the way with two goals each, while Nazmi Albadawi, Steven Miller and Tiyi Shipalane have also scored this season.

Brian Sylvestre continues to be solid in goal and remains tied for the NASL lead in saves with 21. The goalkeeper has been instrumental for the team early in the season and is coming off his first shutout of the season and back-to-back appearances on the NASL Team of the Week.

The match marks the second meeting of the spring season between the two teams. The Deltas won the first-ever match between the clubs with a 3-1 win at San Francisco earlier this season, but the visitors haven't scored since that match and enter the weekend with just two points from its last three results.

Players to Watch: #7 Lance Laing

In the last home match, it only took four minutes for Laing to make an impact. His free-kick goal against FC Edmonton earned NASL Play of the Week honors and is currently in the running for the NASL Play of the Month. Additionally, Laing recorded the game-winning assist in the team's victory over Puerto Rico FC last weekend.

#9 Tommy Heinemann

Heinemann is making his return to Cary, N.C., after playing with the team during the 2010 season. Heinemann scored six goals in 12 appearances with the RailHawks before making the move to MLS. He's already scored two goals with the Deltas, both coming against his former club in the last match between the teams in San Francisco.

Last Time Out: NCFC earned its first road win and shutout of the 2017 season in a 1-0 win over Puerto Rico FC. Steven Miller scored in the 28^th minute off a cross from Laing to provide the lone goal of the match and Brian Sylvestre made five saves to highlight the defensive effort and clinch the result.

Coming Up Next: NCFC will host the Jacksonville Armada on Saturday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park before making a trip back to Puerto Rico FC for a match at Estadio Juan Ramon Loubriel on Saturday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m.
