Martin Named Cal League Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Calif. - JetHawks outfielder Jason Martin has been named the California League Player of the Week for the week of May 23-29, the league announced on Tuesday.
Martin hit .460 (14-for-25) with four home runs and 12 RBI during the week. The 20-year-old posted a .483 OBP and a whopping 1.120 slugging percentage during the week. He scored eight runs and added two doubles.
Martin's week included a 5-for-5 performance during Lancaster's 29-11 win over Stockton on May 26.
During the month of May, the Corona, Calif.-native has totaled seven home runs and 17 RBI. Martin did not hit a home run during the month of April.
Martin becomes the second JetHawks player to earn a weekly award this season and the team's first position player to be honored. Left-hander Matt Bower was named Pitcher of the Week earlier in May.
