New England Revolution News Release

Foxborough, Mass. - The New England Revolution announced today that midfielder/defender Marshall Leonard has been placed on the season-ending injury list by Major League Soccer. As a result, the Revolution will receive roster relief, meaning that the Revolution may sign another player to replace Leonard on the 18-player senior roster.

The Revolution announced on Tuesday, April 25 that Leonard will miss the rest of the 2006 season after having surgery to repair a full tear to the Achilles tendon in his left leg. Leonard sustained the injury on Monday, April 24 in a scrimmage at the Gillette Stadium practice fields versus Boston College. Team physician Bertram Zarins, M.D. performed the surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Leonard's expected recovery and rehabilitation period is six months.

The Revolution also announced the signing of midfielder/defender Danny Wynn to the team's developmental roster. Wynn does not count against the senior roster; every MLS team may carry up to ten players above the 18-man senior roster.

Wynn was selected by the Revolution in the 1st Round (11th Overall) in the 2006 Supplemental Draft out of St. Louis University. A player known for his pace and versatility, Wynn played as a forward, at wide midfield and in the defensive back line while at St. Louis. In his senior season in 2005, Wynn was named First Team All-Atlantic 10 after posting a career-high 10 points (2G, 6A) and was invited to the 2006 MLS Combine in Carson, Calif. In 2004, he led the Billikens in assists (6). In 2002, Wynn was named to Conference USA's All-Freshman team after starting 14 of 19 matches for SLU.
