Marlies Recall Goaltender Todd Ford From Columbia

Mike Penny, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced Thursday that goaltender Todd Ford has been recalled from the ECHL's Columbia Inferno.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Ford, 23, has posted a 9-6-3-1 record with a 2.66 goals against average and .914 save percentage with Columbia this season. He appeared in four games for the Marlies last season compiling a record of 2-1-0. Ford was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third round (74th overall) in the 2002 NHL entry draft.

The Marlies have also released goaltender Len Perno from his amateur try-out agreement.

The Marlies host the Grand Rapids Griffins - AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings - this evening at 7:30 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum on Doug Gilmour bobblehead night. The first 5,000 fans will receive the bobblehead when they enter through the gates. The team then travels to Hamilton on Saturday to face the Bulldogs - AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens - for a 7 p.m. battle before returning to Ricoh Coliseum on Sunday to host the Albany River Rats - AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes - in a 4 p.m. matchup.
