Toronto, Ontario - The Toronto Marlies defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 5-0 at Ricoh Coliseum on Saturday night. Kenny Ryan scored two goals, Keith Aucoin had three assists while Jussi Rynnas stopped all 31 shots he faced for the shutout.

The Marlies opened the scoring 51 seconds into the opening frame on a goal by Greg McKegg. Greg Scott passed the puck from behind the goal line to Nazem Kadri in the right circle. Kadri threw the puck on net and the rebound came out to McKegg who slid the puck past Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Robert Mayer. The Marlies doubled their lead at 6:51 of the first on a goal by Ryan. Aucoin feathered a pass to Ryan in the slot who rifled a shot over the shoulder of Mayer. Ryan scored his second goal of the night at 10:24 of the first stanza. Aucoin slid a pass through the slot to Ryan who one-timed the puck on Mayer who stopped it initially but the puck trickled past him and into the back of the net. Peter Delmas relieved Mayer after the third Toronto goal.

The Marlies added another tally at 4:24 of the second frame on a goal by Nicolas Deschamps. Jake Gardiner received a pass at the point and wired a shot which was tipped in front of Delmas by Deschamps into the top right corner of the net. Toronto scored their fifth goal of the game on a powerplay marker by Mike Kostka at 6:07 of the second period. Aucoin passed the puck from the left circle to Kostka at the point who rifled a slap shot over the shoulder of Delmas.

Rynnas made 31 saves for the shutout and the Bulldogs outshot the Marlies 31-24 to finish the game.

The 'Dogs next game is against the Rochester Americans on Tuesday, October 23rd at 7:35 p.m. at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York. Their next home game is on Friday, October 26th against the Marlies at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum.
