Bradenton, FL - It took two days to complete, but the Marauders (33-24) won their fifth-straight game, taking the first game of their series with the Tampa Yankees (37-21) by a final of 3-2.
LHP Stephen Tarpley started for the Marauders and went 4 innings allowing 2 hits, no runs, and no walks with 2 strikeouts.
RHP Will Carter started the game for the Yankees, going the first 3 innings and giving up 3 hits, no runs, 2 walks and a strikeout.
The Marauders loaded the bases in the fourth and scored the game's first run on an error by Yankees left fielder Zack Zehner on a fly ball by Jeff Roy (1-for-2, 2 BB).
Connor Joe (2-for-3, RBI, BB, R) added to the lead in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single to make it 2-0. Chase Simpson (2-for-4, HR) belted a solo home run to right in the seventh to make it 3-0.
In the top of the eighth, Miguel Andujar (2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) hit a two-run homer to cut the Yankee deficit to 3-2.
Tate Scioneaux (2-0) took the hill for the Marauders when the game resumed. He got the win, tossing 3 scoreless innings with 2 hits, a walk, and 2 strikeouts.
UP NEXT: The Marauders continue their series with the Yankees later on tonight...RHP Austin Coley (8-3, 3.41 ERA) will start for the Marauders... LHP Ian Clarkin (4-5, 3.62 ERA) is set to start for the Yankees.
