Marauders Steal Game One

Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release
FORT MYERS, Fla. Two fifth inning errors by the Fort Myers Miracle (17-7) brought in the necessary runs for the Bradenton Marauders (15-9) to take the first of a three-game series 3-1 at LECOM Park on Tuesday night.
Bradenton struck first in the bottom of the first with a run on a Jordan George RBI-single. On the other side, RHP Bret Helton (W, 5-1) set down the first nine Miracle hitters in order.
In the top of the fourth, Fort Myers grabbed a run to tie the game with a Mitchell Kranson single to score Sean Miller. With runners at the corners and one out, Zander Wiel grounded into an inning-ending double play as the game stayed tied until the fifth.
The fifth inning brought on the tough luck loss for RHP Brady Anderson (L, 4-5). A leadoff single by Alfredo Reyes was then moved to second with a sacrifice bunt. Mitchell Tolman chopped a ball back to Anderson who caught Reyes in between second and third. Anderson threw behind Reyes, and Jermaine Palacios' throw to third sailed into the seats, allowing Reyes to score the go-ahead run. Tolman later scored on a Nelson Molina error at third base when the ball bounced off his glove and into left field.
The bullpen eased its way to the finish line for Bradenton as LHP Daniel Zamora (Sv, 8) picked up the save with a scoreless ninth inning.
The two teams play at 10:30 AM ET on Wednesday morning. LHP Lewis Thorpe opposes RHP Pedro Vasquez.
