Bradenton, FL - The Marauders (38-29) won their fourth-straight game Tuesday night, as they defeated the Jupiter Ham- merheads (30-37) by a final of 6-2.
Taylor Gushue (0-for-3, SF, RBI) opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first that scored Cole Tucker (2-for-4, R).
The Hammerheads responded in the top of the second with a solo homer from John Norwood (1-for-4, HR) to tie the game at one.
The Marauders re-took the lead in the bottom of the fourth on an error by Justin Bohn. Michael Suchy (1-for-4, 3B, RBI) added to the lead with an RBI triple later in the inning to make it 3-1.
Chase Simpson (1-for-4, HR) added a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth to make it 4-1.
The Hammerheads cut the deficit to two in the top of the seventh on a solo home run by Justin Bohn (1-for-4, HR) to make it 4-2. They had the bases loaded later in the inning, but Junior Lopez got Norwood to ground into a 5-4-3 double play to end the inning.
Jerrick Suiter (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI, HBP) gave the Marauders some insurance in the bottom half of the inning with a two- out, two-run double to make it 6-2.
After allowing 4 hits and a walk in the first two innings, RHP Austin Coley (9-5) settled in nicely. He went 6 innings allow- ing 8 hits, a run, a walk, and tied his season-high 6 strikeouts.
Hammerheads right-hander Jorgan Cavanerio (5-6) went 5 innings giving up 6 hits, 4 runs (2 earned), and a walk with 3 strikeouts.
