St. Lucie Mets News Release

BRADENTON, Fla. - The Bradenton Marauders continued their home dominance of the St. Lucie Mets with a 4-2 win on Saturday at McKechnie Field.

The Marauders improved to 5-0 at home vs. St. Lucie this season and they can complete a four-game sweep on Sunday afternoon.

Austin Coley limited the Mets to two runs over seven impressive innings. He scattered five hits, walked one and struck out four.

Reliever Tate Scioneaux struck out four batters in two hitless innings for his first FSL save.

The two runs for the Mets came on a two-out home run from Kevin Taylor in the first inning. After that the Mets only put multiple runners on base twice. In the fifth inning Jhoan Urena grounded into an inning-ending double play. In the eighth, Amed Rosario struck out with two aboard to end the inning.

Ricky Knapp pitched well for the Mets but he couldn't hold the Marauders lineup down the whole game. Pablo Reyes tied the game with a two-run double in the third. It was Reyes' seventh double against the Mets in eight games.

A single by Elvis Escobar and a double by Michael Suchy to lead off the fifth put runners at second and third. Jeff Roy broke the tie with a run-scoring ground out.

Chase Simpson added to the Bradenton lead in the sixth with a solo home run.

Knapp, the reigning FSL Pitcher of the Week, hung tough and pitched seven innings. He surrendered four earn runs, eight hits and struck out a season-high seven batters.

Next Up: The Mets (25-24, 2nd) and Marauders (27-22, 1st) conclude their four-game series at McKechnie Field on Sunday at 1 p.m.
