August 23, 2016 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Lake County Captains News Release
Connor Marabell enjoyed a breakout season with the Lake County Captains and has already been rewarded with a July 27th promotion to High-A Lynchburg. Though Marabell has long since moved on Lake County, he has been honored once again for his fine work in 95 games as a Captain. The Midwest League announced on Tuesday that Marabell has been named to the 2016 Post-Season All-Star Team.
During his time with the Captains, Marabell batted .311 with six home runs and 50 runs batted in. Marabell's 32 doubles is still the top mark on the Captains and remains as the fifth-most two-baggers in the Midwest League this season. The left-handed-hitting outfielder also put up staggering numbers against right-handed pitching with a .333 average, five home runs and 27 doubles
Marabell's best month at the plate came in May when he batted a season-best .327 and slammed 13 doubles in 28 games. During May, Marabell also drove in 19 runs and scored 18 times. He posted a .541 slugging percentage and a .939 OPS during the second month of the season.
A 25th-round selection out of Jacksonville University, Marabell played both right and center field with Lake County and excelled at both posts. The 22-year old Cleveland Indians prospect committed just one error in 187 chances and tallied six outfield assists.
