Mallette Named First Team All-ECHL

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that center Carl Mallette (MAH-leht) has been selected to the All-ECHL First Team, and Head Coach and Director of Player Personal Nick Vitucci released center Dan Lapointe.

Carl is third in the ECHL in scoring with 77 points (30g-47a) in 61 games. Mallette joins Alaska’s Scott Gomez and Chris Minard, Wheeling’s Ray Dilauro, Bakersfield’s Guy Dupuis and Florida’s Chris Madden in receiving the honor. Carl is the first All-ECHL selection for the Storm since 2000-01 when left wing James Patterson and right wing Andrew Williamson were both named First Team All-ECHL. Mallette has scored 12 points (6g-6a) in six games with Toledo after beginning the season in Greenville. Earlier this season, Carl was a starter for the American Conference in the ECHL All-Star Game. Mallette has also played ten games in the American Hockey League, picking up two assists in seven games with Hershey and four penalty minutes in three games with Cincinnati.

Dan Lapointe appeared in four games with the Toledo Storm this season. He did not collect a point and was a minus 2 in his time with Toledo.

Toledo is home tonight against Peoria and Saturday night against Trenton. Storm need just 1 point in their final 2 games to clinch a playoff spot. Toledo Hockey…A History of Champions!
