QUACK TRACKS

Rebound

The Mallards bounced back after dropping their first two games of the week to win their first ever meeting with the Denver Cutthroats 5-3 on Friday night at the i wireless Center.

Upswing

The Mallards have gone 7-4-0 in their last 11 games after starting the season 7-11-3.

Showdown

The Mallards are one point behind the Arizona Sundogs in the race for eighth place and the final Central Hockey League playoff spot heading into their first meeting of the season with Arizona tomorrow night. The Mallards have played two fewer games (32) than the Sundogs (34) and have a better winning percentage (.484) than Arizona (.471).

Breaking Loose

Brett Robinson last Friday established a team season high for points (4) in one game and matched the club single game season high for assists (3). Last Friday also saw Shayne Toporowski score once and add two assists- his first multiple point game as a Mallard.

High Five

The Mallards matched a season high reached twice before- on November 4 against Bloomington and on December 21 against Tulsa- by scoring five times last Friday night. The Mallards produced five goals in the first forty minutes of last Friday's game after scoring just once in their prior two games combined. Last Monday's 4-0 shutout loss in Allen marked the second time the Mallards have been blanked this season.

Special Teams

The Mallards went 2-for-3 on the power play last Friday after failing to convert their prior 21 advantages. The Mallards rank tenth in the CHL on the power play (10.3 percent). The Mallards, who have been shorthanded just once in each of their last two games, rank fourth in penalty killing (85.7). The Mallards lead the CHL in shorthanded goals (5).

Home and Away

The Mallards tomorrow night conclude a three-game homestand and on Thursday night hit the road to play three games in three nights for the sixth time this season.

Leaders

Mickey Lang leads the league in shorthanded goals (3) and is tied for eighth in goals (17) and points (35). Among rookies, Mike Hellyer ranks sixth in points (22) while Mike Stinziani (21) is seventh. Matt Duffy, who scored the game winning goal and added an assist last Friday against Denver, is tied for tenth among defensemen in assists (12) and points (15). John Murray ranks fifth among goaltenders in minutes played (1072:54)

Strong Start

Neil Conway bounced back after suffering his first loss as a Mallard on New Year's Eve in Allen to make 27 saves last Friday against Denver on the way to his fourth win in five starts.

Milestones

Patrik Levesque is four goals short of 100 for his career.

Head-to-Head

The Mallards have gone 4-2-0 all-time against Arizona...The Mallards have gone 2-3-1 against Bloomington so far this season and have gone 1-2-1 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. All-time, the Mallards are 35-16-3 against Bloomington...The Mallards are 2-3-0 against Missouri and have split a pair of games in Independence this season. The Mallards have gone 9-9-1 against the Mavericks in three seasons since entering the CHL.

Forward Cory McGillis (concussion) is on 14-day injured reserve.

Single Game Tickets

Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season contests are now available. Single game tickets are also available at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. Individual game tickets are available for $13 in the upper level, $18 in the lower level and $25 for the first row along the glass for adults. Tickets for kids 12 and under are available for $5 off adult rates.

Group Tickets

Groups of at least ten can receive savings off the walk-up price and a host of other great group benefits.
