QUACK TRACKS

Rebound

The Mallards fell last Friday in Tulsa despite scoring three goals in 61 seconds to tie the game in the third period but rebounded to claim a 3-1 win over (at the time) league-leading Wichita one night later.

Upswing

The Mallards have won four of their last five games and have gone 6-2-0 in their last eight outings to move back to .500. The Mallards won a season-best three straight games before falling last Friday night in Tulsa.

Top Three

Last Saturday night's win kicked off a stretch of four straight games for the Mallards against the top three teams in the league. The Mallards face league leader Allen tomorrow night, second place Wichita Wednesday evening and third place Denver Friday night.

Three for Three

Neil Conway has won his first three starts as a Mallard. Conway has posted a 1.30 goals against average and a .949 save percentage, allowing just 4 goals while making 75 saves since signing with the team on December 17. Conway turned in a shutout in his first Mallard start- a 3-0 win over Tulsa on December 22. Last Wednesday he made 33 saves

and stopped seven of eight penalty shots in the Mallards' 4-3 shootout win over Missouri. He then stopped 29 shots including 17 in the second period alone- on the way to last Saturday's win in Wichita.

Special Teams

The Mallards rank tenth in CHL on the power play (9.5 percent) after failing to convert their last 12 power plays and scoring on just one of their last 21. The Mallards have killed off 25 of their opponents' last 26 power plays and now rank second in the CHL in penalty killing (85.8). The Mallards lead the league with five shorthanded goals.

Home and Away

The Mallards tonight conclude a three-game road trip before kicking off a three-game homestand on Wednesday night.

Happy New Year

The Mallards have gone 3-0-0 in New Year's Eve games since returning to the ice in 2009. A year ago tonight the Mallards defeated the Gems in Dayton in a shootout 3-2.

Leaders

Mickey Lang leads the league in shorthanded goals (3), is tied for ninth in goals (15) and is tied for tenth in points (33). Obi Aduba is tied for fourth in game winning goals (4). John Murray ranks fourth among goaltenders in minutes played (1013:00) and ranks seventh in goals against average (2.78) and eighth in save percentage (.907). Among rookies, Mike Hellyer is tied for third in points (22) while Mike Stinziani (21) is tied for sixth.

Streaking

Mickey Lang's four-game point-scoring streak (2-5-7) ended last Saturday night against Wichita. Lang has notched 12 points (five goals and eight assists) in his last eight games. Matt Boyd is in the midst of a five-game point-scoring streak (4-1-5) and has recorded nine points (five goals and four assists) in his last eight games. Mike Stinziani has scored in three straight games and produced eight points (four goals and four assists) in his last seven games.

Milestones

Brett Robinson reached 100 career points with an assist in last Wednesday's win over Missouri...Patrik Levesque is four goals short of 100 for his career.

Head-to-Head

The Mallards dropped a pair of home games to the Americans November 9 and 10 but did pick up one point for a 4-3 shootout loss to the Americans in the first of those two games...The Mallards have gone 3-2-0 against Wichita this season. The Mallards won the lone game between the two teams at the i wireless Center. The Mallards have gone 5-10-0 all-time against the Thunder...The Mallards and expansion Cutthroats meet for the first time Friday night.

Ins and Outs

The Mallards last Wednesday activated forward Jason Kostadine from injured reserve and waived forward Jeremy Boyer...Forward Cory McGillis (concussion) is on 14-day injured reserve.

Glenn Stewart Number Retirement

Former Mallard great Glenn Stewart's number 18 will be retired. The number retirement will kick off the celebration of the fifteenth anniversary of the Mallards' back-to-back championships in 1997 and 1998. Stewart, who played four seasons for the Mallards from 1996 to 2000, is the franchise's all-time career goal scoring leader.

WLLR Country Music Night

The Mallards team with WLLR Number One Country to celebrate Country Music Night. As part of the festivities, fans attending WLLR Country Music Night will have the chance to win tickets to Rascal Flatts in concert January 11 at the i wireless Center and the World's Toughest Rodeo the weekend of January 25 at the i wireless Center.

Single Game Tickets

Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season contests are now available. Single game tickets are also available at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. Individual game tickets are available for $13 in the upper level, $18 in the lower level and $25 for the first row along the glass for adults. Tickets for kids 12 and under are available for $5 off adult rates.

Groups of at least ten can receive savings off the walk-up price and a host of other great group benefits.
