Mallards Sign Maiani

MOLINE, Ill. (November 6, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that the team has signed forward Domenic Maiani. Per team policy contract terms were not disclosed.

Maiani, 23, started the season with the Central Hockey League's Tulsa Oilers, for whom he played one game. The Shelby Township, Michigan, native spent the bulk of last season with the Rocky Mountain Rage of the CHL, scoring eight goals and totaling 20 points in 46 games. Maiani also skated for the CHL's Amarillo Gorillas in three games last year.

The 5' 11", 182-pound Maiani broke into pro hockey by playing three games with the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs in 2007-08 after a three-year collegiate career at Ohio State that saw him score 25 goals and record 72 points in 93 games as a Buckeye.

The Mallards return home tomorrow night to take on the Muskegon Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. The first 1,000 fans ages 12-and-under through the doors for that game will receive a free Mallards mini-stick courtesy of Reynolds Ford. In honor of Veteran's Day, tickets to that game (and the Mallards' Sunday, November 15 matchup with Bloomington) are available to active military personnel and veterans for the special discounted price of just $9. The military discount is available for tickets purchased in person at the i wireless Center box office.

The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period.
