Madison Mallards News Release

Madison, Wis. - The Madison Mallards have announced the signing of a pair of catchers for the 2018 season. Jesse Forestell (Western Michigan) and Hunter Hisky (Southwest Baptist) will both be joining the Mallards after their spring seasons.

Forestell, a 5-foot-11 junior from Chicago, Illinois, has over 100 games of collegiate experience. Forestell has been a mainstay in the Broncos lineup during his time at Western Michigan. Last season, Forestell started all 53 games and owned a .271 clip while scoring 31 runs and knocking in 19. He accumulated 12 multi-hit performances and was tied for second on the team with 11 doubles. This summer, Forestell will arrive at the Duck Pond with multiple years of experience under belt.

Hisky, a 6-foot junior from Kansas City, Missouri, has also spent plenty of time behind the plate. Last season at Southwest Baptist, Hisky started 45 games while collecting 44 hits, 14 of which were for extra bases. His performance earned him All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors. So far this season Hisky is batting .346 through seven games and has been showing power at the plate. He has five doubles, a triple and a homer in 27 trips to the plate.

With the pair of upperclassmen backstops headed to Madison, the Mallards will have plenty of leadership at arguably the most important position on the field.

Madison Mallards group and season ticket packages are now on sale. If interested in bringing a group out or purchasing a ticket package please call the ticket office at 608-246-4277 and a group representative will be available to help.

Single-game tickets for all Mallards home games will go on sale Saturday, April 28th.
