June 14, 2013 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Green Bay Rockers News Release

The Bullfrogs kept the Mallards scored in the first with a clean inning from lefty Travis Duke (Texas), but were unable to keep the Mallard bats quiet for long, as Madison busted out for a 14-4 victory over Green Bay on Friday night.

A run from Drew Weeks (North Florida) in the top of the second got things rolling for Madison. The run in the second began a streak of 5 straight innings in which the Mallards would score a run against the Bullfrogs.

Green Bay snuck in a run in the bottom of the third off of the bat of Robert Youngdahl (Notre Dame) on an RBI groundout scoring Bryant Burleson (Texas Tech). That was the end of the scoring for Green Bay until the eighth inning. The Bullfrogs trailed Madison 3-1 after three innings at Joannes Stadium.

The flood gates opened in in the sixth inning for the Mallards. The scoring was capped by a bases clearing double from Drew Weeks who had seven RBI and three extra-base hits on the night. After a five run sixth inning, Madison had a commanding 10-1 lead over Green Bay.

The Bullfrogs were able to quiet the Madison bats in the seventh, but that didn't stop Madison from striking back in the eighth. Weeks would strike again with a two RBI double to give Madison a 12-1 lead. A bases loaded walk would score Weeks for the 13th run of the night for the Mallards.

Green Bay would score again when Kelly Norris-Jones (Illinois) singled to left field to drive in Boomer White (TCU) for the second run of the night for the Bullfrogs.

Going in to the top of the ninth inning Madison led 13-2 over Green Bay, but Madison wasn't done scoring. Drew Weeks continued his terrific night by driving in Erik Forgione (Washington) for the Mallards 14th and final run of the night.

Green Bay battled it out to try to finish strong, scoring two more runs with a two RBI, bases loaded single from Boomer White. That would end the scoring and end the game in a 14-4 Mallards victory.

The win went to Danny Sullivan (Davenport), and the loss to Duke. Green Bay is now 7-10 on the season.

The next home game will be Tuesday against the Lakeshore Chinooks with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Come out to Joannes Stadium for Flyswatter Giveaway Presented by YP.com and 2 for 1 Tuesdays with Y100.
