Quad City Mallards News Release

*MOLINE, Ill. **(December 7, 2016) - *The Kalamazoo Wings' (8-13-2) Tyler Shattock scored the only goal of the shootout after Dylan Labbe had twice tied the game in regulation for the host Quad City Mallards (11-8-2)- who did earn one point for battling to a tie over 60 minutes- and the Wings claimed a 3-2 shootout victory Wednesday night.

Shattock snapped a wrist shot in off the post in the second round of the shootout to set the stage for Joel Martin- who made 23 saves in regulation and overtime- to clinch the win by stopping the Mallards' Sam Warning in round three.

Labbe sent the game to sudden death- and, as it would prove, the shootout- by evening the score at two with a long-range wrist shot with 4:21 left in regulation.

The Wings protected a one-goal lead deep into the third period after Justin Taylor's point-blank power play goal broke a 1-1 deadlock at 1:43 of the second period.

Labbe had rifled in his first tying goal home from the high slot at 16:30 of the first period after the Wings' Eric Kattelus scored the opening goal with a low shot from the left wing circle at 11:36.
