Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. (April 1, 2013) - The Quad City Mallards have added forward Nick Buonassisi (bahn-ah-SEE-see) to their playoff roster, the Mallards announced today.

Buonassisi, 20, takes up one of the Mallards' two postseason roster spots reserved for amateur players.

The Coquitlam, British Columbia, native joins the Mallards after scoring 14 goals and totaling 34 points in 69 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the major junior Western Hockey League this season.

"Nick had a successful season with Brandon and he's a guy who skates well and moves the puck well," said Ruskowski. "He's also physical, which is what I like as a coach. He can do a good job for us and I look forward to seeing good things from him."

The 5' 10", 188-pound Buonassisi spent the last five-plus years in the WHL, where he skated for the Prince George Cougars for three full seasons and parts of two others and for the Lethbridge Hurricanes for a single campaign before joining the Wheat Kings this season. Buonassisi produced 60 goals and 171 points in 339 career junior games.

The Mallards' 2013 Road to the Cup presented by Rascals and Lensch, Toporowski & Associates- a financial advisory practice with Ameriprise Financial- continues when the Mallards' best-of-seven opening round match-up with the Fort Worth Brahmas- who won the first two games of the series- shifts to the Quad Cities for game three Wednesday evening at 7:05 p.m. Game four will follow Friday night at 7:05 p.m. Should a fifth game prove necessary, it will be played at the i wireless Center Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. If a sixth game is required, the series will move back to Fort Worth for that tilt on Tuesday night, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. If the series goes to a seventh game, the Brahmas would host the deciding contest on Wednesday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m. in Fort Worth.

Tickets for the Mallards' first round home games are now on sale. All first round playoff seats are available for just $12 for adults and $9 for youth 12 and under. In addition, adult opening round tickets for fans who wear green to playoff games as part of the Mallards' "Green Out", will be available for just $10 at the i wireless Center ticket office.

Playoff tickets can be purchased in person at the i wireless Center ticket office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000.
