FC Kansas City News Release

KANSAS CITY - Two weeks after having introduced the Affiliate Program, FC Kansas City announced today the signing of its second affiliate, Magellan Soccer Club from Lincoln, Nebraska.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Magellan Soccer Club to the FC Kansas City family," Affiliate Coordinator Dan Brown said. "Jo [Rosenberger] and her staff share the same beliefs as we do in developing players and core club values. It's truly a 'win-win' situation for all involved."

The Affiliate Program is one of the first strictly female development programs in the area by scouting clubs that have a history of player development, good club infrastructure and aligned with the team's core values.

Magellan Soccer Club provides unparalleled soccer development in Nebraska and the region. Using the exclusive training curriculum that its Directors of Coaching have developed, Magellan Soccer provides high-level soccer development for youth of all ages in a unique academy environment designed to maximize the growth of every player. Serving players aged 4 through 18; Magellan Soccer is the perfect organization for learning the love of soccer in a fun and family-friendly environment.

"Ever since we had the chance for the boys to have a connection with Sporting KC, we were seeking similar opportunities for the girl's program. When the FC Kansas City became a possibility, we jumped on it," Director of Coaching - Girls Program Jo Rosenberger said. "We can't wait to present more opportunities to our girls and have them compete at the highest level as well as being a part of the FCKC family."

Within this relationship, there will be opportunities that include everything from expanded playing and collegiate scouting for the girls to coaching and educational exchanges and collaborations between the staffs. In addition, the girls will have a tangible connection through partnered camps and clinics where the girls will get to meet their real-life heroes that play on both the FCKC first team as well as several US National Team players.
