Macon's Kevin Kerr Named SPHL Coach of the Year

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Wednesday announced that Kevin Kerr of the Macon Mayhem has been selected as the SPHL Coach of the Year in a vote of league coaches, general managers and media representatives.

Fayetteville's Jeff Bes finished second in the voting.

In his second season with the Mayhem, Kerr led Macon to a 37-13-6 record and the William B.

Coffey Trophy as regular season champions. Macon's 80 points were the third-most in a single season and they posted a 27-point improvement from last year, tying the second largest single- season point increase in league history. Under Kerr, Macon also set a new league mark for the longest road winning streak at the start of a season (eight games).
