Machine to Host 2015 Midwest Coaches Convention

COLUMBUS, OHIO (August 11, 2015) - The Ohio Machine is proud to announce that it will host its second annual Midwest Coaches Convention for coaches at the youth, high school, college and club levels. The convention will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Nationwide Hotel & Conference Center in Columbus, OH.

Following the success of its first Midwest Coaches Convention last year, the Machine has expanded the 2015 convention to include boys lacrosse (youth and high school), girls lacrosse (youth and high school) a high school leadership program for boys and girls captains, and a referee's clinic.

"Our goal is to grow the annual convention into a one stop shop for coaches and players in the Midwest," Machine Vice President & Head Coach Bear Davis said. "We got tremendous feedback after the first convention last year and we want to continue to provide to best lacrosse education in every aspect of the game."

Open to coaches at all levels, the convention will be beneficial for coaches ranging from beginner level to upper level high school, club and college lacrosse. The instruction includes offensive and defensive formations, goalie play, faceoff and wing play, special situations, program building and practice planning.

Led by Ohio Machine Head Coach Bear Davis, speakers and instructors include members of the top coaching staffs in the Midwest. Machine team captain Kyle Harrison will headline the high school leadership program and will be joined by teammate Scott Rodgers. In addition to the Machine coaching staff, speakers and instructors include Capital University, Cleveland State University, Kenyon College, Lake Erie University, University of Michigan, Muskingum University, Ohio Northern University, Ohio Valley University, Ohio Wesleyan University, Tiffin University, Wheeling Jesuit University, Wilmington College, Wittenberg University, and The College of Wooster. A full list of the 2015 Midwest Coaches Convention speakers and instructors will be announced at a later date.

The convention is open to coaches at all levels of the boy's and girl's lacrosse game. Registration for the 2015 Midwest Coaches Convention is $50 and included a free lunch, snacks and social hour. The coaches convention will begin at 8 a.m. and will run until 5 p.m. Registration for the high school leadership program is $15. The high school leadership program will begin at 8 a.m. and will run until 11:30 a.m.
