Ohio Machine News Release

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Machine have signed midfielder Christian Mazzone to a one-year contract for the 2019 season, the team announced today.

A graduate of Rutgers University, Mazzone played in a total of 60 games and finished with 75 points (50 goals and 25 assists) and 136 ground balls. In his 2018 senior season, Mazzone was named Team Captain and was named to the 2018 Second Team All-Big Ten, and received Honorable Mention All-American honors. Mazzone was also a four-time academic All-Big Ten honoree.

"We're really excited about Christian signing with us for the 2019 season," Machine Head Coach and General Manager Bear Davis said. "He's a jack of all trades. He works hard and I think he's going to bring a blue-collar work ethic that is needed for us."

Originally from Stony Brook, NY, Mazzone attended Ward Melville High School where he was named a US Lacrosse All-American as a senior, MSG Varsity All-Tri-State First Team and Newsday All-Long Island First Team honors. He led his team to a 22-0 record his senior season, he was then awarded the MVP for the Suffolk County Championship game and the team later went on to become the top ranked team in the nation and win the New York State Championship in 2013.

Sheens fans can look forward to Mazzone challenging for a spot on the roster at training camp this spring.
