Minnesota Lynx News Release
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced that the team will wear a patch on their jerseys to celebrate the life of Jacob Wetterling.
The Lynx will represent his soccer team color and number with a red number 11 patch on the shoulder of their jerseys. The patch will be worn on Saturday, September 17 as they face the Atlanta Dream at home and at all games throughout the semifinals round of the 2016 WNBA Playoffs.
The patch is also in support of the #11forJacob campaign, focused on reminding people that living by 11 character traits, the world can be a better place for everyone, especially children. Those 11 traits are to be fair, be kind, be understanding, be honest, be thankful, be a good sport, be a good friend, be joyful, be generous, be gentle with others and be positive. For more information on the 11 traits campaign or to make a donation to support the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center's education programs in schools throughout Minnesota on personal safety for children, visit 11forJacob.org or facebook.com/jacobwetterlingresourcecenter,
The Lynx also will have a moment of silence for Jacob and his family on Saturday prior to tipoff.
