October 17, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release
The Augusta Lynx made more roster moves this weekend following their second pre-season contest on Saturday, a 4-3 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays.
In addition to adding Jake Riddle from Portland on Sunday, the Lynx have brought in former Mississippi Sea Wolves forward Nicolas Corbeil. The speedy center split time with the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears, and the ECHL's Sea Wolves and San Diego Gulls last year. In 69 games, the 5-11, 177 lb. Corbeil recorded 15 goals and 42 points. Originally drafted in the third round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Laval, PQ native started the season with the AHL's Houston Aeros but did not appear in any games.
On the other side of the ledger, the Lynx released forwards Christian Godin, Jaydyn Murray, Doug Scatchard, and James Massen to pare down to 20 skaters and two goaltenders. Augusta's final roster is due before the season opener this Friday, October 21st at 7 pm at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center against the South Carolina Stingrays.
The Lynx will close out their pre-season schedule in Columbia against the Inferno on Tuesday night at 7 pm. The game is free and open to the public, with donations accepted at the door for the American Red Cross.
