Omaha Lancers News Release

Ralston, NE - Four consecutive goals to start the game doomed the Lancers as Muskegon skated away with a 8-2 victory on Sunday night.

Collin Adams recorded a hat trick for the Lumberjacks and Andrei Svechnikov picked up three points as well.

Lancers' Brannon McManus recorded his 50th career USHL point with a power play assist in the third.

Muskegon started off the scoring in the first when Collin Adams picked up his first of the game just over seven minutes into regulation. That goal would stand as the lone tally of the first giving Muskegon a 1-0 lead after the first.

In the second it was the Lumberjacks top line coming in hot once again. Adams scored once again just over a minute into to double the lead. His line mate Andrei Svechnikov added to that lead just a little later. Entering the zone on the right wing side the highly touted Russian prospect snapped a shot short-side on Jacob Acton finding a hole just barely bigger than the puck itself. Svechnikov's goal ended Jacob Acton's night after making eight saves on 11 shots through just under two and a half periods of play. Collin Adams finished off his hat trick at the 13:25 mark of the second period giving Muskegon a 4-0 lead.

Omaha would finally get on the board when Filip Suchy took a pass from Filip Rydstrom and snapped it low blocker side past Adam Brizgala to cut the lead to 4-1. Muskegon answered back sixteen seconds later when Jordan Timmons snapped a spin around shot between Peter Thome's legs to push the lead back to 5-1.

In the third Michael Joyaux pulled the Lancers within three again scoring on the power play. Brannon McManus fed Joyaux at the right point before the defenseman blasted a shot into the top right corner. The assist was McManus' 50th career point in the USHL.

Muskegon would add three more goals in the third running the score to 8-2 before the final horn sounded.
