OTTAWA - Louisville City FC midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye has been named in Canada's 27-man squad to face Curaçao on June 13 at Stade Saputo in Montreal, his first selection to the full Canada Men's National Team.

The 22-year-old joined Louisville prior to the 2016 USL season, and has made 28 regular-season appearances for the club. In addition to his four appearances for the club this season, Kaye also featured prominently for Canada's U23 National Team as it took a pair of victories in Qatar against the host national and Uzbekistan. Kaye was named the Man of the Match in the 2-0 win against Qatar.

"It's always great to get called up to the national team," Kaye said. "You have to go in there and be ready to work hard. There are going to be a lot more experienced players - some that have a higher pedigree than me. I just need to go in there and try and learn from them."

Joining Kaye in the squad are a number of other players with USL experience, including former Toronto FC II standout Raheem Edwards, who is currently having a standout season for TFC in Major League Soccer. The 21-year-old has recorded five assists in 11 games for Toronto this year after finishing tied for the team high with six goals for Toronto FC II in the USL a season ago.

Montreal Impact forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel - who recorded nine goals in the USL regular season in 2016 - is also named to the squad, as is Tyler Pasher, who featured prominently in the Swope Park Rangers' run to the 2016 USL Western Conference championship before signing with Sporting Kansas City this offseason.

"We have the perfect mix of experience and youth in this squad," said Canada Men's National Team Head Coach Octavio Zambrano. "We are looking forward to seeing how they come together on the pitch. With this camp, we have a chance to look at players for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, but also younger players that are part of our long-term plans."

Other notables include Montreal Impact goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau, who made 29 appearances in the USL over two seasons, and former Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Kianz Froese, who made 22 appearances for Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 in leading the side to the Western Conference Final of the 2016 USL Cup Playoffs a season ago.
