Los Angeles D-Fenders News Release

EL SEGUNDO, CA - Ryan Forehan-Kelly scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Los Angeles D-Fenders over the Reno Bighorns, 114-92, Thursday at STAPLES Center.

Los Angeles finished the season strong with their season-best third straight victory, improving their record to 19-31 for the year. Reno (24-25) saw their playoff chances take a major blow with the 22-point loss.

Forehan-Kelly scored 13 points in the second quarter as the D-Fenders erupted, turning a 29-29 tie after the first period into a 65-49 advantage going into halftime. The D-Fenders erased any hope of a Bighorns comeback as they came out in the second half extending the lead to as many as 26.

Brandon Heath and Charlie Parker each chipped in with 20 points for Los Angeles; Earl Barron posted his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 boards. Dwayne Mitchell (14) and Mickael Gelabale (13) rounded out the D-Fenders double-digit scorers.

Reno was led by Richie Frahm's 18 points in his return to STAPLES Center (Frahm played for the Los Angeles Clippers during the 2007-08 season). David Noel recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Russel Robinson contributed 16 points, nine boards and seven assists. Daryl Dorsey came off the bench to knock down 16 points.

The D-Fenders were able to control the paint against Reno, outrebounding the Bighorns 52-39; Los Angeles was also able to end the game with a 10-point advantage in the paint.

This was the last game of the 2008-09 season for the D-Fenders; Reno returns home to square-off against Central Division-leading Colorado 14ers in their final game of the season, with possible playoff implications on the line.
