Long Balls Launch Castellani and Nuts to 6-2 Win

Modesto, CA. - A couple of long balls supported Ryan Castellani's gem in the Modesto Nuts' 6-2 win over the Visalia Rawhide on Saturday night at John Thurman Field.

Drew Weeks put the Nuts (25-31; 51-75) on the board first with a solo shot to left in the second inning. In the fifth, the Nuts opened it up against Rawhide (27-29; 73-53) starter Alex Young (L, 2-6). After loading the bases with no outs, Young got the first out with a strike out. Shane Hoelscher followed and launched his second grand slam of the year.

Ryan Castellani (W, 6-8) worked eight sterling innings for the Nuts. He worked around eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts to allow just two runs, both scoring in the seventh.

Weeks went 2-for-4. Collin Ferguson was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Forrest Wall had two hits in four at-bats.
