Loggers Land a Pair of Nevada Hurlers

La Crosse, Wis. - The La Crosse Loggers front office announced today that they have added a pair of players from the University of Nevada with the official signings of pitchers Ryan Anderson and Grant Ford.

Freshman LHP, Ryan Anderson, is in the midst of his first season with the Nevada Wolf Pack. After contributing to success in Nevada, Anderson will be throwing on a La Crosse Loggers uniform and take the mound this summer. Some of his high school highlights include being named RGJ Northern Nevada Pitcher of the Year and being named to the First-Team All-State Team as a senior. Also, he was a member of the Oakland A's Area Code Team. During his high school career, Anderson pitched a total of 134.2 innings with a 2.10 ERA, while recording 181 strikeouts and 43 walked batters. His career highlight was playing on ESPN in the 2015 Area Code Games.

Teammate, Grant Ford, will be joining Anderson in a La Crosse Loggers uniform this summer. The freshman RHP has also been making an impact on the mound this spring for the Nevada Wolf Pack. In his first collegiate season, Ford has tossed a total of 39.2 innings compiling a .500 record while allowing 30 runs on 38 hits and sitting down 24. Some of Ford's high school highlights include Team MVP and Team USA Pitcher of the Week. He pitched 38.1 innings with a 2.74 ERA and batted .345 with four homeruns.

Anderson, Ford, and the rest of the Loggers will open their 2017 campaign at home on Tuesday, May 30 when they play host to the Duluth Huskies at 7:05 p.m. at the newly renovated Copeland Park.
