Local Ice Expert Jim Hartnett To Oversee Rink Build For Mirabito Outdoor Classic
January 5, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Syracuse Crunch News Release
Syracuse, NY (January 5, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that local ice expert Jim Hartnett has been hired to oversee the rink build and maintenance for the Mirabito Outdoor Classic, the AHL's first-ever outdoor game featuring the Crunch hosting the Binghamton Senators at the New York State Fairgrounds on February 20 at 1 p.m.
"Not only is Jim a veteran guy who is accomplished at overseeing ice rink projects, but what makes his involvement with this project better is that he is from Syracuse", said Crunch President and CEO, Howard Dolgon.
"As a lifelong hockey fan and native of Syracuse, I am extremely excited and satisfied to be a part of an event of this magnitude," said Hartnett.
"I grew up less than two miles from the fairgrounds, so to have an opportunity to play a major role in something like this in my own backyard is very special."
Hartnett, who has over 35 years of experience in the indoor and outdoor ice rink business, will oversee the entire project from start to finish. A rink refrigeration specialist, Hartnett has been involved in over 300 ice rink projects in the United States and Canada and has served as a principal marketing and business development executive for some of the industry's largest ice rink refrigeration system manufacturers.
In addition, Hartnett has been involved in every type of ice installation and operation, from small outdoor skating venues to NHL skating facilities.
Tickets for the Mirabito Outdoor Classic are priced at $30 for end grandstand and $40 for center grandstand seating. Group pricing begins at 20 tickets and range as low as $26.
In addition, tickets can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444, calling TicketMaster at 1-800-745-3000 or by stopping by the Oncenter Box Office, located on the State Street Side of the War Memorial.
Mirabito Energy Products, the title sponsor of the Mirabito Outdoor Classic, is a New York-based company that has been providing energy needs for families and businesses throughout upstate New York since 1927.
