Local Author and Reporter Christie Casciano to Drop Ceremonial Puck

Syracuse, NY - Local children's book author and News Channel 9 anchor Christie Casciano will drop the ceremonial first puck, in honor of Christie Casciano Day when the Crunch take on the St. John's IceCaps on Saturday, Dec. 29.
In addition to dropping the puck Casciano will receive a proclamation from County Executive Joanne Mahoney naming Dec. 29, 2012 as Christie Casciano Day. The proclamation honors Casciano's service as a reporter, author, volunteer and dedicated hockey mom. Casciano has covered her hometown of Syracuse for News Channel 9 for more than 25 years in addition to writing the successful children's book series 'The Puck Hog'. She is also involved in numerous local charities.
Casciano will be tabling on the upper concourse from the start of the game through the first intermission to sign copies of her most recent book, 'The Puck Hog 2'.
