AKRON, OH - The 20th IMPACT honoree to be recognized by the Akron Racers is former centerfielder Lisa Modglin. The Akron Racers continue celebrating every Tuesday and Thursday with the announcement of the players who have had the most profound impact playing for the Racers in their 15 seasons of play.

"Lisa Modglin, defensively, set the bar for outfielders extremely high," noted GM, Joey Arrietta. "Lisa crashed into the temporary fence as if it were her very own backyard playground. I signed her to play here so I wouldn't have to watch her hit walk-off home runs against us too!"

Modglin clearly earned the distinction one of the best outfielders in franchise history and in the league. Modglin had a special aptitude for leaving opposing sluggers disappointed as she scaled over or blasted through the fence in centerfield to steal a would be home run. Modglin used that ability to snag the 2010 NPF Defensive Player of the Year award, becoming the first outfielder in league history to win that award.

Modglin joined the Racers in 2009 as a free agent, after spending the first two seasons of her career with the New England Riptide. During her playing career she was a hard worker on and off the field. Modglin finished her career with the Racers in 2012 with her name all over the Racers' record book. The speedy centerfielder is currently second all-time in stolen bases with 46, just two behind team-record holder Iyhia McMichael. In both of her first two seasons with the Racers, Modglin stole a league best 17 bases, netting her the first ever Golden Spikes Award in 2010. Modglin is also third in doubles with 24 and fifth in runs scored with 94.

For her career, Modglin batted .262, with 137 hits, 10 home runs, 54 RBI and 33 walks. Her first season with the team was Modglin's best offensively, batting .328 with 27 runs scored and 12 RBI en route to her first of two All-NPF selections as a Racer.

Modglin's illustrious career will be celebrated alongside the rest of the IMPACT honorees on July 15-17 when Akron hosts the Dallas Charge for a three-game series. Among other festivities, Modglin and 29 other honorees will be recognized in a ceremony celebrating the Racers 15th Season of Play on July 16th. Each Impact honoree will receive a special commemorative jersey including their name and number.
