Lions Take Danny Watkins with Fourth Overall Pick in CFL Canadian Draft

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club have selected offensive lineman Danny Watkins from Baylor University with their first round pick (4th overall) in the 2010 Canadian Draft.

The Kelowna native has one year of eligibility remaining at Baylor after transferring there in 2008 from Butte College in Oroville, Calif. The 25 year-old will return to his starting left tackle position for the 2010 NCAA season.

"We believe Danny is one of the best players in today's draft and he will be a very important part of our club in years to come," said Lions GM and head coach Wally Buono.
