Lions Place Six on CFL All-Star Roster

December 3, 2012 - Canadian Football League (CFL) - B.C. Lions News Release

(Vancouver) The final round of post-season awards was announced by the CFL this morning with six members of the BC Lions earning 2012 CFL All-Star team honours. Members of the all-Canadian squad were selected by 70 voters, including members of the Football Reporters of Canada (FRC) and CFL head coaches along with thousands of CFL fans across Canada.

On offence, running back Andrew Harris puts an exclamation point on a memorable season with his first CFL All-Star selection. The speedy ball carrier set a new standard for Canadian running backs with 1,830 combined yards on the year. Harris is joined by Jovan Olafioye on the offensive side of the ball as the right tackle adds another CFL All-Star nod to his resume to go along with his recent naming as the CFL's Most Outstanding Lineman.

The Lions also placed four players on the defensive team led by defensive end Keron Williams who finished the season with a league-high 12 quarterback sacks. This is Williams' second CFL All-Star selection, the first coming in 2009 as a member of the Montreal Alouettes. He is joined by defensive backs Korey Banks who notches his fifth career selection and Ryan Phillips who picks up his third. Linebacker Adam Bighill who recorded a team-high 104 tackles, caps a fantastic sophomore season with his first selection.
