Lindhorst Returns, Dolan Joins Staff

October 6, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Rapid City Rush News Release

RAPID CITY, SD- The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Arizona Coyotes, announced that Patrick Dolan has joined the Rush Hockey Operations staff as the Head Equipment Manager for the 2016-17 ECHL season. Additionally, Head Athletic Trainer Cody Lindhorst will return for his third season in the Black Hills.

Rush Head Coach Mark DeSantis said of Dolan's addition to staff: "We are very excited to have Patrick on board. We lost a great equipment manager in Eric Bechtol to the AHL, but we believe that Patrick will do a great job for us."

Dolan, 28, comes to the Rush after three seasons with the USHL's Chicago Steel in the same capacity. While with Chicago, he was part of their Hockey Operations staff when the Steel captured a Bronze Medal in the Junior Club World Cup that was played last summer in Russia. Before heading to the Windy City, Dolan worked for two years as a Store Manager for Total Hockey. Prior to his professional experience, Dolan, a native of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2011 with a degree in Sports Management.

"I'm very excited to work with the Rapid City Rush this season. This is a phenomenal opportunity to take the next step in my career in professional hockey," Dolan said of joining the Rush. "As an Equipment Manager, I bring a positive atmosphere in what I do. I make sure that our players are comfortable, but most importantly, prepared. I'm thankful for the experience I gained with the Chicago Steel and in the USHL, and wish them the best. I can't wait to get started with the Rush next week in Training Camp."

"After his first season, Cody went through some learning experiences. His work ethic is off the charts, and it was a no-brainer to bring him back on board," DeSantis added of Lindhorst. "Cody and I have a great working relationship, and with Patrick now in the fold, they make my job easier as a head coach."

Lindhorst now enters his third season as the Head Athletic Trainer of the Rush. The Traverse City, Michigan native achieved a career milestone as well last season when he took to the Rush bench for the 100th time in his professional career on New Year's Eve of last season. Lindhorst reprises his excellent working relationship with the Rush Medical Team, now in its ninth season in caring for the Rush players led by Rush Medical Director Dr. Christopher Dietrich. Prior to joining the professional ranks, Lindhorst graduated with a degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Central Michigan University, and played as a goaltender on the Chippewas' Division I ACHA Club Hockey Team. Before he graduated, he interned with the USHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks, and spent time observing training camp for the NHL's Detroit Redwings, local semi-professional football, and the NHL Prospects camp in his hometown of Traverse City.

"I'm very happy to stay with the Rush organization. I'm excited for working another season with our staff and our team. We have great people in this organization, and we work really well together," Lindhorst said of his return for a third season. "Working with Dr. Dietrich and his team for the last two seasons has been spectacular. We have a great working relationship in taking care of our players, and I look forward to continuing that in my third season."
