LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Starter Brad Lincoln allowed just four hits and struck out six over six scoreless innings of work, before relievers Wil Ledezma and Jean Machi finished off the shutout to help lead the Indianapolis Indians to a series split with a 4-0 victory over the Gwinnett Braves on Thursday night at Coolray Field.

With the win the Indians record now moves to 28-26 on the season, while the Braves fall to 24-29 with the loss. The win for Indianapolis also helps them gain the season series split as both match ups between the clubs this season ended in 2-2 series ties.

Lincoln (6.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO) continued his recent dominance as he allowed just four hits and one walk, while striking out six to earn the victory and improve to a team best 6-2 on the season. In his two starts ,on the Indians' eight-game road trip (May 27 - June 3), Lincoln tossed 11 scoreless frames during which time he surrendered only five hits and two walks, while striking out 13.

Following Lincoln's dominating effort, Tribe relievers Wil Ledezma (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 5 SO) and Jean Machi (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 SO) struck out seven of the nine batters they faced to bridge the gap to the Indians' third shutout of the season. Ledezma, who pitched multiple frames for just the second time this season, struck out a season high five, while Machi escaped a ninth inning jam by collecting multiple punch outs for the ninth time this season.

On the offensive side the Tribe used six extra-base hits, including three doubles and a season-high three triples to plate multiple runs in both the third and sixth innings.

LF Jose Tabata began the Indians first scoring rally in the third when he lined a one-out triple to right field, before coming around to score on a clutch two-out base hit by 1B Brian Myrow. 3B Pedro Alvarez then came through with a clutch base knock of his own as he belted his team-leading third triple of the season to plate Myrow and give the Tribe a 2-0 lead.

Lincoln then helped his own cause as he initiated the Tribe's second scoring attack by drawing a one out walk in the top of the sixth. The Indians' starter then moved to third when Tabata came through with a double to right, before the pair both trotted home on a three-bagger by RF Kevin Melillo that tied him with Alvarez for the team lead and gave Indianapolis the 4-0 advantage.

Tabata (2-for-4, 2 R, 1 BB), Myrow (3-for-5, 1 R, 1 RBI) and 2B Brian Friday (2-for-4) all collected multiple hits for the Tribe, while only 2B Joe Thurston (2-for-4) turned in a multi-hit effort for the Braves. Melillo (1-for-4, 2 RBI) was the only player to collect multiple RBI in the contest, while Tribe C Erik Kratz (1-for-3, 1 2B, 1 BB) extended his season best hitting streak to nine games with a fifth inning double and is now batting .353 (12-for-34) with four runs, four doubles, four walks and five RBI during the streak.

Braves' starter Jose Ortegano (5.1 IP, 11 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 5 SO) allowed all four Indians runs on 11 hits and was pinned with his first loss of the season to drop to 2-1.
