Greenville Drive News Release

Greenville, SC - The Drive announced today that a limited quantity of tickets to the Reedy River Rivalry are available for purchase by the public. This highly anticipated contest between Clemson University and the University of South Carolina will take place on Saturday, March 6th at Fluor Field, with the first pitch slated for 2 PM.

"We are extremely excited to have a limited number of tickets we can offer to the public for the Reedy River Rivalry game at Fluor Field," noted Drive General Manager, Mike deMaine. "Due to the unique nature of the match up and the agreement we have with each of the Universities to host this game at Fluor Field, we were restricted in the number of tickets we have been able to offer to our fans, particularly since Drive ticket plan holders were given first priority."

deMaine added, "However, I am excited that the Universities have just released a small number of Lawn & Deck tickets for us to sell to our fans. These tickets provide access to the grassy berm, concourse, picnic area, and The 500 Club, but not the seating bowl."

Lawn & Deck tickets, which have been priced at $15 by the Universities, may be purchased by visiting the Fluor Field Box Office, located at 947 South Main Street, or charge-by-phone by calling (864) 240-4528. Tickets purchased over the phone by Friday, February 26th will be mailed, while those purchased after that date can be picked up at Will Call on the day of the game.

On the day of the game, from 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM, a tailgate-style block party will be held on Field Street outside of Fluor Field, with free admittance. This event will include live music, mascots - the Tiger and Cocky - from both schools, and forums with players and coaches, as well as the Athletic Director from each University. Food, beverage and merchandise items will be available for purchase, in addition to complimentary inflatable games, face painters, and a magician for children.

Drive Co-Owner and Team President, Craig Brown, commented, "Downtown Greenville's premier ballpark is the ideal setting for this intense rivalry and the energy and excitement these teams and their fans bring will create a special experience at Fluor Field and throughout the Community. With its close to the action intimacy, Fluor Field will make for a truly electric environment. We are confident that the Greenville venue will add to the illustrious rivalry between Clemson and South Carolina. Fans will not want to miss this opportunity!"

Neither school is a stranger to Fluor Field, as both teams have played in Greenville before. South Carolina played the inaugural collegiate baseball game at Fluor Field versus Furman University on May 16th, 2006 and additional games against the Paladins in 2008 and 2009. Clemson played its first game at Fluor Field on May 8th, 2007 versus Wofford College, and has played at least one game each year since, most recently this past weekend against Michigan State.

When the schools meet in less than two weeks at Fluor Field, it will mark the 289th game in the rivalry. Clemson leads the all-time series, 165-120-2. 2010 will also mark the first time in 20 years that a game in this rivalry has been played in Greenville.
