(LONDON, Ontario) - Monday night at Budweiser Gardens, the London Lightning beat the Orangeville A's 118-110 in Game 1 of their first round playoff series.

Akeem Scott had 30 points to go along with four assists in the win.

Seven Lightning players ended with double digits in points.

Stephen Maxwell finished with his first playoff double-double (15 points and 11 rebounds).

London's biggest lead came in the fourth quarter when they opened up a 22 point advantage.

"That was a tough win and now we're battle tested. Overall, good first game. You've got to grind through the playoffs. A win is a win in the playoffs," said coach Kyle Julius. "We did a half decent job of following the scouting report, and when we follow the scouting report, we've had success against them."

The Lightning next face the Orangeville A's on Wednesday, May 4 at Budweiser Gardens. Tickets for the game are available at the Budweiser Gardens box office or online.
