Lightning Recall Forward Dana Tyrell From Syracuse

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled forward Dana Tyrell from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Tyrell, 23, has skated in 15 games with the Crunch, posting five goals and eight points to go along with 11 penalty minutes. He recorded a goal in four of his first six games after being reassigned to the Crunch on February 10. The Airdrie, Alberta native posted a positive or even plus/minus rating in 12 of his 15 games with Syracuse.

The 5-foot-11, 192-pound forward has played in six games with the Lightning this season, notching a goal and an assist with four penalty minutes. Tyrell made his season debut on January 22 in Carolina against the Hurricanes and recorded two penalty minutes. He has skated in 110 career NHL games, registering seven goals and 22 points with 22 penalty minutes.

Tyrell was originally drafted by the Lightning in the second round, 47th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
