Mississippi Surge News Release

Dear Season Ticket Holders and Hockey Enthusiasts,

On behalf of the entire Mississippi Surge organization, I would like to thank you for your continued support as we close out the 2011-2012 season. We had a successful season on the ice and have a lot of momentum going into next year. As you may know, Jeff Bes was recently selected SPHL Coach of the Year by his peers and goaltender Kiefer Smiley was co-winner of the Rookie of the Year award. Smiley and James Isaacs were named to the all-Rookie team.

As we enter the off-season, we are continuing to work closely with the Mississippi Coast Coliseum to strengthen our continuing partnership in creating a stable hockey presence on the Gulf Coast. Whether supporting the Junior Surge program or simply providing public skating to our fans, we are firmly committed to the future of hockey on the Gulf Coast.

With that, we have launched our "Grand in the Stands" season ticket drive for the month of April. In order help insure the long-term success of hockey on the Gulf Coast, we are looking to increase our season ticket base to 1,000 seats. This number also reflects the number of season tickets we need in order to remain a viable operation and without reaching this number by the end of April, the immediate future of hockey here on the coast would be in serious doubt.

As you know, season ticket holders are the foundation on which any sports franchise is built. While we are hopeful about the future of the Surge going forward, it is imperative that we receive the full support of our fans and the community during this season ticket drive in order to help insure hockey continues here for many years to come.

Again, thank you for your support and we look forward to your continued commitment to Mississippi Surge hockey.

Sincerely,

Tim Kerr
