Lemurs Bounce Back To Beat T-Bones

LAREDO, TX - Garrett Rau's triple down the right field line drove in two runs to give the Laredo Lemurs a 4-2 win over the Kansas City T-Bones Sunday afternoon at Uni-Trade Stadium. 

David Newmann got the start today for the Lemurs giving up a run in each of the first two innings to give the T-Bones a 2-0 lead.  Newmann would then get comfortable on the mound in the third inning seeing only three T-Bones come to the plate, as he picks up the win and moves his record to 2-1 on the season.  Newmann on the day went five complete, giving up two runs, on six hits, with four walks, and two strikeouts. 

After Newmann gave up the two runs, it would be all Lemurs.  In the third, with one out Jake Optiz doubled to left center.  Harrison Kain followed up with a double of his own to put runners at second and third.  Then Sawyer Carroll came to the plate and singled into right field to bring home Opitz and Kain tie up the game at two. 

Garrett Rau not only picked up the game winning hit in the in the fourth, he also picked up his first save of the season as he pitched the final two innings of the game, giving up one hit, while striking out three.  

T-Bones pitcher Shaun Garceau ended his day taking his third loss of the season.  On the day he threw seven, giving up four runs, on eight hits, with one strikeout.  

The Lemurs now head to Grand Prairie to take on the AirHogs for a five game series in four days.  They will be home on Friday, June 7 to take on the Amarillo Sox in a three games series.  All game times at home will be at 7:30pm.
