Lexington Legends News Release

Roman Collins and Xavier Fernandez each drove in two runs and the Lexington Legends took a 6-4 win over the West Virginia Power Thursday night in Charleston.

The Legends won despite giving up 13 walks. The Power left 13 runners on base, and had one hit in 13 at bats with runners in scoring position.

The Legends broke on top with two runs in the first inning. With one out, Collins singled and moved to second on an infield hit by Fernandez. A single by Brandon Dulin loaded the bases, and Colton Frabasilio's single brought Collins home. Fernandez also came home after an error by right fielder Ryan Nagle.

The Power got a run back in the third on walks to Tyler Filliben and Casey Hughston, a sacrifice bunt, and a sacrifice fly by Mitchell Tolman.

Lexington added three runs in the fifth. Tanner Stanley drew a leadoff walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Jecksson Flores. After D.J. Burt was hit by a pitch, Collins tripled to center field, scoring two runs. Collins came home on a sacrifice fly by Fernandez, and the Legends led 5-1.

The Power scored a run in the seventh on a bases-loaded walk, and the Legends added one in the ninth on a leadoff double by Flores and a two-out single by Fernandez to take a 6-2 lead into the bottom of the ninth.

Ryan Nagle's two-out, two-run double closed the gap to 6-4, but reliever Matt Ditman retired Raul Hernandez on a ground out to end the game.

Daniel Concepcion (2-4), who relieved starter Julio Pinto with two outs in the fifth inning, worked one and two-thirds innings to get the win. Ditman picked up his fourth save of the season.

West Virginia starter Dario Agrazal (7-12) took the loss.

The Power won two out of three games in the series.

The Legends will open a three-game series Friday night in Salisbury, Maryland against the Delmarva Shorebirds.
